Small, intimate celebrations are some of the most wildly romantic, and Nicole and Aiden’s styled couple’s session is a gorgeous rendition of a celebration just for two…

At the heart of a really beautiful celebration is love. Lots and lots of love. Layered on top are thoughtfully designed, perfectly crafted moments filled with emotion, excitement, and pure joy.
Framed by the Magaliesberg Mountains, the idyllic venue at Kleine Rijke is a true dream world, and the epitome of laid-back elegance and romance. The family-run farm dates back over 200 years and sits amongst acres of golden grassland, fruit orchards, and historic architecture overlooking the glistening Hartbeespoort dam in the distance.
When I began planning for Nicole and Aiden’s styled couple’s session, I was overwhelmed by the sheer beauty of the venue and was inspired by its antiquity. I chose to use the historic elements of the venue as my muse and designed an elegant, yet welcoming celebration for the couple to enjoy.
To highlight the delicate juxtaposition of natural beauty and relaxed elegance, I chose a colour palette consisting of duck-egg blue, mustard, blush, and burgundy – a kaleidoscope which worked in perfect harmony against the venue’s organic backdrop and one that transcends all seasons. I believe the prettiest tablescapes are those where the décor plays off the surroundings, and this vignette was no exception. I accentuated the natural colours from the venue to compliment what already exists.
The intimate sweetheart table was set amongst ancient pine trees, where Nicole and Aiden enjoyed the sweeping views of the valley ahead, and dined on a delectable alfresco spread prepared by V&ME Styling. A mesmerizing performance by violinist, Naomi Tagg, added ambiance like none other. Her eclectic notes drifted through the air, transporting Nicole and Aiden to their own world.
Layers of wood, French linen, and chiffon were the foundation for the gorgeous florals. Plantation Revival’s organic arrangement took centre stage and the table was adorned with loose pears, which mimicked the prominent arches in the venue’s architecture. I love the subtle variation in the golden colour of the fruit that felt both rich and light-hearted, while their round base and long necks provided a whimsical touch to the setup. Hand-made ceramic plates, tapered candles, and delicately placed napkins were the finishing touches to an elegant yet effortless, sophisticated yet cozy design.
Stationery and calligraphy details created by JP Design added a unique, organic feel to the overall style. Seeded paper (which can later be planted) wrapped in a botanical velum print, adorned with a wax stamp and gold twine were welcoming details to the couple’s table. A hand-crafted wine box by The Baked Bean was gifted to the couple and added a special touch to Nicole and Aiden’s intimate celebration.
Mrs. Rose designed two beautiful gowns for Nicole to wear, one of which incorporated the duck-egg blue and blush from the colour palette. The gowns were perfectly paired with romantic hair and make-up by Bianca McCann that truly accentuated Nicole’s natural beauty.
The true splendor of this vignette lies in the details – all the intricacies came together to paint a picture of love, simplicity, and romance. Everything was captured and brought to life on the other side of the lens by our talented photographer and videographer, Jenna Storey. Jenna’s ability to capture emotion and beauty is both graceful and timeless.
As for the couple themselves – Nicole and Aiden epitomize love in a pure, romantic, and graceful form, which is so evident throughout these images. A delightful couple whose love is kind, respectful, and understanding. Nicole and Aiden, this session was an opportunity for one amazing couple to celebrate their love, and my only hope is that we made a dream your reality! I loved meeting you and wish you so much happiness as your love for one another only deepens and strengthens.
I am incredibly grateful for the amazing team that came together to create this beautiful inspiration for all couples who are provoked by organic romance:
